Job Description:

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources and Labour Relations Manager will contribute as a key member of the Human Resource Team in the development and delivery of HR/LR strategies, processes and programs in advancing business goals to meet strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities
-  Identify HR/LR and organizational development issues and solutions (i.e. change management, compensation, workforce planning, training and development, etc.).
-  Interpret and administer several collective bargaining agreement, manage grievance and arbitration processes and collective bargaining process.
-  Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
-  Advise management in appropriate resolution of HR/LR issues.
-  Administer salary and benefit administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
-  Manage reduction in workforce process and related documentation.
-  Coach, consult, persuade and influence management to ensure best practice engagement and problem solving approaches.
-  Identify external business and market trends, anticipate external influences and adjust HR/LR Strategies accordingly.

-  Employee Relations.
-  Health and Welfare Plans.
-  Regulatory and Corporate Compliance.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-  Knowledge of formal and informal dispute resolution methodology, procedures, techniques, mediation.
-  Well-developed business/personal judgment skills in resolving issues ranging from semi-routine to more complex situations.
-  Strong program and policy development skills in order to develop HR/LR programs, initiatives and policies.
-  Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and deliver strategic and tactical objectives.
-  Solid leadership, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution and relationship management skills with demonstrated abilities to both work collaboratively and to influence others.
-  Demonstrated proficiency with various software and tools used in an office environment.
-  Knowledge of Provincial and Federal HR/LR practices, particularly in relation to the construction industry.
-  Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong presentation and facilitation skills to deliver employee relations programs.

Experience and Qualifications
-  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or CHRP designation.
-  Current membership with BCHRMA preferred.
-  Minimum seven years of progressive HR/LR experience with a focus on collective agreements and HR/LR management.
-  HR/LR experience in a multi-union environment is preferred.
-  Construction industry experience, including projects with a major contractor within North America.
