Job Description:

Job Overview:  Parallel Wood Products Ltd., a secondary wood manufacturing Finger-jointing facility located in Williams Lake, B.C. requires a certified millwright with exceptional mechanical skills and aptitude, to perform industrial maintenance duties. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent the Certified Millwright duties will include installing, inspecting, adjusting and repairing all production equipment. You will also be responsive to production needs and equipment failures. You will work as part of a team but would routinely perform work independently, maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety while performing your duties.
Shift: Shift work is required
-  Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
-  Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts as determined through effective preventative maintenance
-  Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
-  Keeping downtime to a minimum by trouble shooting mechanical problems, repairing or replacing defective machinery as soon as possible (i.e. change finger-joint cutter heads, size changeovers-adjust machinery to ensure lumber is “on grade”, set up planer heads (once trained)
-  Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
-  Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on equipment
-  Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
-  Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
-  Identify and communicate opportunities to improve production

Job Requirements:

-  Finger Jointer experience an asset
-  Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
-  Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
-  Welding experience an asset.
-  Ability to work independently without supervision or in a team environment to meet tight deadlines
-  Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
-  Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds 
-  Own Tools/Equipment.  Steel-toed safety boots and tools as required
