Job Description:

To support the rapid growth of our organization and to further enhance our vision for the future, the Fort St. John Friendship Society is expanding and in search of a General Manager to add to our team.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the General Manager will provide support to the coordination and management of: 
  • Recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation, and scheduling of staff;
  • Program & Service development and delivery; 
  • Budgeting & financial projections;
  • Compilation of relevant statistical data and completion of reporting requirements related to approved contracts, budgets, and agreements;
  • Grant funding proposals and fundraising efforts;
  • Development, maintenance and revision of personnel policies and procedures as approved by the Board of Directors;  Marketing & Public Relations.

Job Requirements:

Post-Secondary graduate with Business Management, Administration, Accounting or Human Resources designation, and a combination of applicable leadership and/or management experience.
Personal Attributes:
  • Ability to foster a caring and positive work environment through an exemplary work ethic, strong communication skills, consensus-building, empathy, and self-awareness.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, problem solving, and interpersonal skills with awareness of priorities and concern for operational imperatives.
  • Strong accounting background.  Knowledge of Sage an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint 
  • Valid Drivers’ Licence (Class 4 an asset), and reliable vehicle
  • Political awareness and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture, language and traditions.
