Salary $67,418.93 - $77,019.79 annually

In the capacity of Wildlife Specialist, you will implement and support fish, wildlife and/or ecosystems management. This role encompasses leading and/or supporting staff in appropriate interpretation and application of provincial legislation, policies, regulations and external professional standards; providing specialist oversight in planning and conduct of biological assessments and inventories; modeling and forecasting the outcomes of resource management initiatives; and leading and/or supporting evaluation of mitigation measures required by natural resource sector authorizations and regulations.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications for this role include:
  • PhD in Biological Sciences, specializing in Wildlife Ecology, Zoology, or a wildlife-focused natural resource management speciality, plus two (2) years of related experience, OR
  • Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences, specializing in Wildlife Ecology, Zoology, or a wildlife-focused natural resource management speciality, plus four (4) years of related experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, specializing in Wildlife Ecology, Zoology, or a wildlife-focused natural resource management speciaity, plus six (6) years of related experience.
  • Registered (or eligible) as a Registered Professional Biologist (RP Bio) in B.C. with the College of Applied Biology within six months of employment.
  • Experience assessing and monitoring natural resources.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid British Columbia Class 5 driver's licence or equivalent
