Applications are now being accepted for the November 2024 Sheriff Recruit Training (SRT) class.

Deputy Sheriff

$68,148.42 - $77,507.02 which includes a 3 Grid Temporary Market Adjustment. $48,729.07 annually for new recruits attending the fourteen-week Sheriff Recruit Training Program. In addition, eligible employees will receive a recruitment and incentive payment of $10,000 annually, as well as a benefits package worth approximately $19,500 to $27,000 annually.

Deputy Sheriffs provide protective and enforcement services to the Provincial, Supreme and Appeal Courts of British Columbia. As a Deputy Sheriff, you are a provincial peace officer and will work closely with different partners in the justice system to ensure all levels of courts in the province are operating smoothly and safely. Qualifications

Qualifications for this role include:

  • 19 years or older
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
  • Valid Class 4 unrestricted B.C. Driver’s License or equivalent from another province
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience in law enforcement and/or experience/training in mental health situations.
  • Preference may be given to applicants who have trained and qualified in Use of Force and Pistol (re)certifications within a Canadian law enforcement agency in the past 24 months.
