Description
H3M is seeking a Field Technician to join our team in Fort St. John. The position requires someone who is physically fit with a willingness to work long hours in the field under variable weather conditions. While educational experience is not required, H3M is seeking individuals working towards a technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in an archaeological or environmental discipline. Education and/or experience in biology, environmental science, archaeology, anthropology, geography, earth science, or soil/reclamation science) would be considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Archaeological Impact Assessments
- Completing subsurface testing in frozen and non-frozen ground conditions
- Assisting on AIAs on forestry and oil and gas developments
- Assist with Archaeological site excavations
- Assist with various environmental assessments including, but not limited to:
- Soil and vegetation assessments
- Stream assessments and classification
- Wetland assessments and classification
- Wildlife surveys
- Leasewater pump-offs
- Phase I and II Contaminated Site investigation
- Spill response
- Complete data entry
- Assist Intermediate and Senior Environmental Professionals and Project Managers where required
- Routinely working in remote conditions
- Operating ATVs, UTVs and Snowmobiles

Qualifications
- Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing
- Experience with driving ATVs, UTVs and Snowmobiles
- H2S and First Aid certification required
