Located at the Site C Dam, Peace River Hydro Partners is the prime contractor on the BC Hydro Site C Clean Energy Project. This position is based out of our West Pine Quarry.

  • Licence/Certification:
    • Mine Rescue certification valid in BC (preferred)
    • BC Shift Boss Certificate (required)


You are an experienced Foreman who is skilled at mentoring others to ensure the smooth functioning of day to day operations at the West Pine Quarry. With direction from the Quarries and Crusher Construction Manager and/or the Mine Manager, you will be responsible for implementing the field aspects of the agreed upon project plan and schedule, which includes: quality control, safety and the delegation of work to field staff, contractors and trades. You will drive accountability among your crew and ensure that safe work practices are implemented.

Please note that this position is on a 14/7 rotation and is strictly nightshift at our West Pine Quarry, which is roughly located 2.5 hours away from Fort St. John, BC. The length of this position is until October est. with a potential to be extended. Foreman will also receive an additional $3.00 per hour premium.


  • Supervises and provides clear direction to a crew on specific work tasks and deliverables
  • Ensures efficient deployment and productivity of work crews
  • Ensures that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by the Project Safety Plan
  • Ensures adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE, is supplied, readily accessible, properly used and maintained
  • Prepares a work plan, quality plan and hazard analysis for each task and reviews with the Superintendent and crew prior to the start of every operation
  • Ensures that all work permits are obtained and adhered to
  • Provides mentorship and coaching to crew members as required to complete the project in consultation with the Quarries and Crusher Construction Manager and Mine Manager
  • Assists with maintaining, approving, and submitting hourly timecards with all necessary details for job costing purposes
  • Interfaces with other site personnel, clients or contractors
  • Participates in daily tool box talks and meetings as required
  • Completes daily activity reports/daily logs and submits to supervision
  • May perform other related duties as assigned


Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a construction supervisory capacity
  • Must have a valid BC Shift Boss Certificate
  • Previous equipment operating experience and knowledge is required
  • Valid Class 5 (or 3 or 1) Drivers License complemented by a clean driver’s abstract
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule
  • Knowledge of construction documents, costs and budgets
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals and posses a strong safety record
  • Effective communication skills; must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, report progress or issues to Superintendent and the Mine Manager
  • Ability to pass any pre-access screening, including a Drug and Alcohol test
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others

Working Conditions

  • Must be physically fit and able to work in remote camp locations
  • Must be willing to work 12 hour nightshifts
  • Outdoor work subject to extreme weather changes
  • Must be able to work access/board equipment in areas with uneven ground or snow or soft-ground/surface water

Please Note: This is a site-based position located at the West Pine Quarry, part of the Site C Dam in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Preference will be given to qualified, local candidates. However, we will also consider fly in/out candidates based out of Vancouver, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Calgary, or Edmonton. Rotational employees are required to work a 14/7 rotation at West Pine; flights and camp accommodations are provided while on shift.
