There is one (1) full time position available. This is a temporary opportunity until December 31st, 2024.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.

This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Forest offices: Dawson Creek, Fort St John, Fort Nelson, Prince George.

Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.

$69,760.70 - $79,322.69 annually, plus $54.75 bi-weekly Isolation allowance for Fort Nelson

The Senior Resource Technologist provides senior technical advisory services to a program area in the natural resource sector and provides authorizations support for the district. This position will conduct detailed analysis of specialized aspects of an application or proposal and coordinate the work of other staff and technical projects.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Diploma or equivalent in a natural resource field with at least 4 years or more related experience*.
  • Degree or higher in a natural resource field with 2 years or more related experience*.
  • Related experience may include:
    • Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management.
    • Experience in negotiating/mediating solutions in natural resource management.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
