Victim Service Worker

Location: Fort St. John, BC
Duties: Ability to provide emotional support, practical assistance, information and referrals to clients who have been victims of crime. Provides court support services such as explaining court processes and trial procedures. Provides accompaniment and/or transportation to court, police and medical appointments as needed. Maintain case notes, forms and statistical information. May chair the local Violence in Relationships Committee. Ability to operate a PC and related software.
Other Job Information: This job may require flexibility to meet individual and agency demand.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $18.66 - $21.73 with full benefits and pension

This is a unionized position with the BCGEU and is open to all applicants.
Qualifications: Diploma in a related human/social service field. Two (2) years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Vehicle Use: You must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
