Heavy Duty Mechanic

G. Baumeister Ltd. is looking for Heavy Duty Mechanic to come join our team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in workplace safety
• work as a team
• take direction from the shop manager
• use hand and power tools to repair and perform maintenance
• diagnose, identify and repair problems, faults, malfunctions in structural, mechanical, or hydraulic systems in a safe manner
• Maintain and repair vehicles and equipment including but not limited to earth moving equipment, various tractor trailer combinations, tracked equipment, light duty trucks and trailers
• operate equipment safely and according to relevant legislation, policies, safe work procedures
• Ability to be flexible in the duties of a mechanic
• Ability to represent the company in a polite, respectful, presentable and professional manner

• Valid Class 5 Drivers license with clean drivers abstract
• Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic Trade Certificate
• Minimum of 3 years experience is preferred
• Must have CSO,H2S, First Aid
• Experience in the construction and trucking industry
• Effective verbal, listening and written communication
• Ability to understand and execute verbal and written directions
• Safety orientated and focused
• Prior experience with Caterpillar, Link belt, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo, Western Star, Kenworth, Freightliner
• Team Orientated
• Pass Pre- Employment Drug/ Alcohol and fitness testing
• Willing and able to work in cold weather
• Willing to go to camp when needed
• Willing to work shift work
