Teaching Home Support Worker

• Provide teaching and assistance for activities such as cooking, grooming, money management, shopping, and laundry to families referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
• Does cleaning, including extensive cleaning and disposal, major clean-up of the home interior including moving furniture and oven cleaning.
• Assists families to function more independently in their own homes through the teaching of daily life skills.
• Participates in the development of service plans, provides progress notes and other required documentation.
• Liaises with other community agencies as needed.

Location: Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge

• Diploma in a related human/social service field.
• One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English. Computer literacy.

Other Job Information:

• Work may not always be done within normal working hours, depending on the client’s needs.
• Evening and weekend work may be required.
• Provides transportation for clients when required.

Vehicle Use:                          

• You must have a Class 5 BC Driver’s License, and a reliable vehicle.
• Annual vehicle inspections are required.

Hourly Rate:                         

• $21.63 – 25.19 depending on experience
